Dr. James Miller

Senior Technical Advisor

US Department of Energy

Dr. James Miller is currently on assignment at US Department of Energy Headquarters in Washington, DC, where he is a senior technical advisor in support of the DOE hybrid and electric vehicle program.  He has 35 years of research experience at Argonne National Laboratory, including work on advanced batteries, fuel cells, and electric drive vehicles.  He has been the Director of Argonne’s Electrochemical Technology Program since 1999.  He has served on numerous advisory committees for the National Academy of Sciences, the National Research Council, NASA, the International Council on Clean Transportation, and the US Department of Energy.

Jim holds a B.S. degree in physics from the University of Missouri, Masters and Ph.D. degrees in physics from the University of Illinois, and an MBA degree from the University of Chicago.
